Santa Cruz de Tenerife recoups the Festival Canarias Jazz & Más Heineken open-air concerts
The Festival Canarias Jazz & Más Heineken kicks off this weekend with a double session of open-air concerts in the square – Plaza de los Alisios (at the rear of the Tenerife Auditorium). On Friday 6 July the billing will feature the local band Atlantic Jazz Ensemble, pianist Christian Sands in a trio formation and trumpeter Keyon Harrold. The concerts commence at 21.00 hours and are free-entrance. In this manner, Santa Cruz de Tenerife is able to recoup the open-air concerts it once staged, with a double programme as on Saturday 7 (same time & place) both lovers of good music & faithful fans of the festival, will be able to enjoy a second session featuring performances by the Alexis Alonso Quartet (Canaries), British artist Myles Sanko and the Californinans Jungle Fire. Two eclectic nights of entertaining exposure to two different ways of understanding & appreciating jazz, encountering from the classic & pure to the fusion of related rhythms like hip hop, soul & Afrobeat.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife recupera los conciertos al aire libre del Festival Canarias Jazz & Más Heineken
El Festival Canarias Jazz & Más Heineken arranca este fin de semana con una doble jornada de conciertos al aire libre en la Plaza de los Alisios (trasera del Auditorio de Tenerife). El viernes 6 de julio el programa estará protagonizado por la banda local Atlantic Jazz Ensemble, el pianista Christian Sands en formato trío y el trompetista Keyon Harrold. Los conciertos comenzarán a las 21.00 horas y son gratuitos. De esta forma, Santa Cruz de Tenerife recupera los conciertos en abierto, con doble programa, ya que el sábado 7 (mismo lugar y horario) los amantes de la buena música, los fieles seguidores del festival, podrán disfrutar de una segunda jornada en la que actuarán el Alexis Alonso Quartet (Canarias), el británico Myles Sanko y los californianos Jungle Fire. Dos noches eclécticas, con presencia de diferentes modos de entender el jazz, encarándolo desde el clasicismo y la pureza, hasta la fusión de ritmos emparentados como el hip hop, el soul o el afrobeat.

João Bosco, Dhafer Youssef, Kenny Garrett, Cyrille Aimée, Christian Sands, Keyon Harrold, Allan Harris, Michael Olivera, Eva Cortés, Gilad Hekselman, Myles Sanko, Jungle Fire, Tanika Charles, Yotam Silberstein, Iñaki Arakistain, Ida Nielsen, Julian Lage and Naughty Professor are some of the artists that make up the billing at this 27th edition of the Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más Heineken, which kicks off this week and will be staged between 6 & 22 July at venues covering once again most of the Canary Islands. ‘Noche África’ (Africa Night), featuring Alex Ikot & Nelida Karr, and various other local bands complete said billing for a new presentation of this well seasoned Canarian festive event.

La 27ª edición del Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más Heineken arranca en la Plaza Alisios del Auditorio de Tenerife y en la Plaza de España de Los Llanos de Aridane de La Palma un programa de 49 conciertos que les llevará también por Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Graciosa y Gran Canaria. Esta edición comenzará el 6 de julio y se prolongará hasta el día 22.
