In this 34th edition the Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más Músicas Creativas stages a unique concert that combines 10-time Grammy Award winners Take 6 with the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra (OFGC). The fusion between the multi-award winning Americans and the musicians of the Gran Canaria orchestra promise an unprecedented and surprising sound, featuring two concerts for an unrepeatable opportunity to vibrate with this combination.
On Tuesday 22 July at the Theatre Cuyás in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and on Wednesday 23 at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Auditorium,Take 6 breaks barriers at the 34th Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más accompanied by the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, under the distinguished direction of the renowned British conductor, violinist, and educator Suzie Collier, in a combination of orchestral arrangements & vocal virtuosity for the occasion.
Take 6 is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and technically advanced vocal groups in the history of music. Its members, Claude McKnight, Mark Kibble, Joel Kibble, Dave Thomas, Alvin Chea & Khristian Dentley, blend their voices to produce a unique mixture of jazz, gospel, R&B and pop, taking a capella music to a new level, which has led them to win 10 Grammy awards, 10 Dove Awards and and Member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, among other countless prizes & international recognitions.
Their impeccable vocal precision & complex harmonic structure get together with their technical skill & innovative arrangements to revolutionize the genre to its very foundations. The members from Oakwood College campus in Huntsville (Alabama) have asserted their talent on stages around the world, establishing itself as a benchmark for different generations of artists & music lovers. The OFGC has been acting as a launching pad for local talent and a symbol of music from Gran Canaria since the year 1845, building up 180 years of intense activity, symphonic seasons and collaborations of all kinds.

The festival celebrates its 34th birthday featuring a total of 59 concerts staged at 28 venues, between public squares & open-air spaces with free admittance and paid–entrance theatres & auditoriums on the islands.
