The 34th ‘Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más’ will stage 58 concerts at 28 diferent venues on eight islands
Take 6 together with ‘OFGC’, Dee Dee Bridgewater & Gonzalo Rubalcaba head the top notch billing from 4 to 26 July

The ‘Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más’ is back again from 4 to 26 July with 58 concerts staged at 28 different venues featuring an extensive billing that includes such figures as the multi-award winning vocal group Take 6 together with the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra ‘OFGC’, the voice of Dee Dee Bridgewater, maestro Gonzalo Rubalcaba, the “sonera del mundo” Aymée Nuviola, The Vijay Iyer Trio, Melissa Aldana Quartet and the New York sound of the Kennedy Administration; among many other top notch artists & ensembles that will visit the eight islands.
With the presence of already established known figures on the billing together with up-and-coming stars, as well as its commitment of taking jazz to the street, the Festival covers the Canary Islands featuring some free-entrance open-air concerts at different emblematic spaces in various municipalities, besides othes at the main auditoriums, theatres and concert halls of the Canary Islands.
Featuring this musical recipe, ‘Canarias Jazz & Más’ sets out on Friday 4 July simultaneously in Santa Cruz de Tenerife with the Dee Dee Bridgewater Quartet, in Arucas (Gran Canaria) featuring performances by Alain Pérez y la Orquesta and the Melissa Aldana Quartet and in La Graciosa with the vocalist Esther Ovejero.
This is followed by four weeks of concerts which will bring the best of music to the different venues in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, San Bartolomé de Tirajana (Maspalomas), Arucas & Santa Brígida in Gran Canaria; Santa Cruz de Tenerife, La Laguna, Adeje & Puerto de la Cruz in Tenerife; Jameos del Agua & Arrecife in Lanzarote; Los Llanos de Aridane in La Palma, Puerto del Rosario in Fuerteventura, Playa Santiago in La Gomera, El Hierro and La Graciosa.
The international billing of the 34th edition of the ‘Festival Canarias Jazz & Más’ is rounded off with the might & vigour of Lakecia Benjamin, Alain Pérez, the acclaimed Rita Payés, Krzysztof Kobylinsky, the versatility of the guitar by Matteo Mancuso, Nordic jazz by the Espen Berg Trio, Orchestra Jazz Siciliana, Ellister van der Molen, Zuco 103, Arin Keshishi & Daahoud Salim, at one of the most well rooted and followed cultural events both within and outside the Canary Islands.

At this 34th edition, the prominence & attraction reserved for Canarian artists & groups, an unmissable appointment for the great family of island jazz, will feature Las Albitas (Alba Gil Aceytuno & Alba Careta), the group Maravijazz led by Augusto Báez, Mónica Santana, Thomas Figueroa Grooving´Jazz Project, Luis Sánchez Quintet, Esther Ovejero, Alexis Alonso Sextet, David Minguillón Trío, The Local Jazz Band, Anna Rodríguez Quartet and the Joven Canarijazz Big Band.
For yet another year, in its 34th edition, the ‘Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más’ becomes an attraction and a must for thousands of locals and vistors to the islands to enjoy the best of music featuring a programme known for its open-mindedness, with a variety of formats & styles, with which it tries to satisfy the most specialized ear and at the same time open up to new projects & ensembles so as to widen the musical horizon for the thousands of people who come to their concerts each year.
