Lucía Fumero Trío
Diverse styles have influenced the pianist, composer and singer Lucia Fumero. She is currently dedicating her time to the release of her own album and project, ‘Universo normal’ (Seed Jazz 001), featuring a repertoire of original music that goes from one place to another, full of vitality and fresh air.
The base of her universe is born in folklore and she transforms it through the knowledge & experience that she has consolidated in classical music & jazz, and this results in unique colours. Interested in both songs with vocals and lyrics and also in instrumental music, Lucia Fumero expresses herself with a rhythm marked by charisma and personality, and at the same time impressionistic; two apparently opposing concepts. Fumero is accompanied by two high-level musicians on the Spanish jazz scene: Martín Leiton on double bass and Juan Rodríguez Berbín on drums & percussion.
Lucia Fumero is a pianist & singer born in Barcelona, of Argentinian & Swiss roots. She began studying classical music at the Municipal Conservatory of Barcelona, where she graduated with the title of ‘Grado Profesional de Música’(Professional Grade of Music) in 2010. She then travelled to Holland to keep studying & working. There, at the University of Music in Rotterdam, she took the ‘higher grade of modern music’ course, specializing in Latin music. She is now in her final year at the ‘Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya’ (ESMuC)(Higher School of Music in Catalunya) within the speciality of jazz piano.
She has participated as a musician in many diverse ensembles, of different styles, and is now releasing her first original music album. She often collaborates with the new generation of musicians in Barcelona, such as Rita Payés, Nico Roig, Pol Batlle & Martín Meléndez, among others.
