Canarias Jazz & Más visit Santa Ana, Puerto de la Cruz & Arrecife in its last weekend

The Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más Músicas Creativas reaches its final stretch to bid farewell to this edition with free open-air concerts staged in Lanzarote, Gran Canaria & Tenerife, featuring the vibrant Kennedy Administration, the skill & dexterity of Matteo Mancuso, the flamenco fusion of Patax and Zuco 103’s Brazilelectro, among other ensembles of this festival’s jazz banquet.
Canarias Jazz & Más plunges into its final week with some of the star concerts of this edition, with events held in the public square Plaza de El Almacén in Arrecife, Lanzarote on Thursday 24; at the artificial seawater lake & leisure complex Lago Martiánez in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife and in the public square of Santa Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Thursday, Friday & Saturday, all open-air free concerts.
From the heart of Brooklyn the innovative sound of Kennedy Administration promises to set alight the festival Canarias Jazz & Más with their blend of young talent & vitality of jazz in its most dynamic form. With a veritable army of followers, Kennedy Administration has managed to capture the magic of Brooklyn and transfer it into its music to perform on stage, with a sound that is both modern and rooted in tradition, with a funky & soulful style. The vibrant expertise & diversity of Kennedy Administration can be enjoyed on three islands, namely, in the public square Plaza El Almacén in Arrecife (Lanzarote) on Thursday 24, in the public square of Santa Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Friday 25, and at the artificial seawater lake & leisure complex Lago Martiánez in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) on Saturday 26.
This week the festival welcomes PATAX, currently one of the most prominent fusion bands in Spain and a globally recognised ensemble, with over 100,000 followers on RRSS and 25 million views on YouTube. Featuring a powerful and fresh live performance, the group will stage performanes at the artificial seawater lake & leisure complex Lago Martiánez in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife on Thursday 24 and in the public square of Santa Ana on Friday 25.
They are joined by the pioneers of the sound known as Brazilectro, Zuco 103, who will light their creative spark in the public square of Santa Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Thursday 24 and at the artificial seawater lake & leisure complex Lago Martiánez in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife on Friday 25, where they will defy genres & expectations fusing Brazilian sounds with jazz, electronics, funk & dub in a unique and unmistakable style.
Another of the most anticipated artists of this week is the guitarist Matteo Mancuso, a talented fusion guitarrist whose versatile & spectacular live performance has all the makings of a memorable concert, The Italian prodigy stages performances in the public square El Almacén in Arrecife (Lanzarote) on Thursday 24, at the artificial seawater lake & leisure complex Lago Martiánez in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) on Friday 25 and ends up in the public square of Santa Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on closing night, on Saturday 26.
Canarian talent plays an equally starring role in this final straight, with an amalgam of formations & styles to enrichen the final days of programming. In big band formation the energy of the ‘Joven CanariJazz Big Band’ (Young Canary Islands Big Band) arrives like a hurricane in the public square of Santa Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Thursday 24, filling the stage with youngsters from all over the Canary Islands between the ages of 11 & 30, that reinforce and fill with commitment & enthusiasm the music generated on the islands. The group from Tenerife, the David Minguillón Trío that merges world music with the improvisation of jazz and the expressive power of flamenco, performs on Saturday 26 at the artificial seawater lake & leisure complex Lago Martiánez de Puerto de la Cruz. For his part, also on Saturday 26 but in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the repertoire of Luis Sánchez Guerra, pianist & composer, stages his performance in public square of Santa Ana.
