As a platform for dissemination, projection and especially, in its key role as ambassador for music on the islands, this year 2025, the Canarian artists & ensembles that participate in Canarias Jazz & Más represent 35.5% of its total billing.

The Festival comes to the smallest island of the archipelago, La Graciosa, with Esther Ovejero, an artist who will display the talent of her solid track record and great versatility, on the pier – Muelle de Caleta de Sebo on Friday 4 July, the opening session. Not to be missed is your appointment with jazz featuring one of the most solid formations of today, La Local Jazz Band, a band that gives free rein to its creativity in its own style that draws from contemporary jazz, the influence of the rich history of jazz and with its own personal touch. The band from Gran Canaria will take the stage in the public square of the Santo Domingo Convent in La Laguna (Tenerife) on Sunday 6 July.

The group Maravijazz, for their part, will stage their performance in the public square – Plaza Salytien in Adeje on Saturday 12 July; meanwhile Mónica Santana will perform her own songs loaded with emotions and experiences in the magical festival venue in La Restinga, on the island of El Hierro, on Thursday 10 July; to add to these we have the Alexis Alonso Sextet, who will open the session on Saturday 19 in the public square – la Plaza Ciudad, adjacent to the Tenerife Auditoriem; then we have the Canarian quartet Anna & Three who will stage their live & vibrant presentation in the square – Playa de Santiago in La Gomera on Sunday 20.

With overwhelming energy, the duo ‘Las Albitas’, made up of Alba Careta & Alba Gil Aceytuno, comes to the Festival to make the stage vibrate at the venue Castillo San Felipe in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife on Tuesday 22 and at the Elder Museum in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Wednesday 23. The stellar union of the Catalan trumpet player & singer and Canarian saxophonist are all set to surprise and really get the audience moving at this edition.

Also in a stage setting full of charm, the lake venue of Lago Martiánez in Puerto de La Cruz, the guitarrist, composer & producer Thomas Figueroa Groovin’ Jazz Project will be the star attraction for an evening of jazz, blues, groove, funk and the sensibility of soul on Thursday 24 July.

A vibrant ensemble made up of young talent between 11 and 30 years old, taken from all the Canary Islands and conducted by the renowned jazz soloist and educator José Vera Bello, the ‘Joven CanariJazz Big Band’ (Young Canary Islands Big Band) is not just the flag carrier of Canarian talent, but also an example of a music that crosses generations and unites the archipelago. The only youth big band in the Canary Islands will share its charisma with the audience at a free-entrance open-air concert in the emblematic Santa Ana Square in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Thursday 24.

Luis Sánchez Guerra, pianist & composer born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, will be another of the Canarians to bring local flavour to the festival with a performance in the public square – Plaza de Santa Ana on Saturday 26 July. The self-taught improvisational pianist will be part of the closing day session of this 34th edition on his island, where he will present Historias latentes in quintet formation.

A musical group that merges world music with the improvisation of jazz and the expressive power of flamenco in the shape of the David Minguillón Trío closes the session in Tenerife with a concert in the lake venue of Lago Martiánez en Puerto de la Cruz, which will also put the finishing touch to this edition.
