LuisMo Valladares Quartet
Outstanding bass player at national level, with an impeccable track record, he was soon recognized for his technique and an understanding of music with a decidely remarkable character. The Blues in its original echo is the referential foundation that, connected to contemporary harmony, would form the central core of this musician who flaunts an innate curiosity for experimenting. His style varies between fusion from progressive rock mixed with Jazz, so-called Jazz Rock, to more refined and open styles such as hard bop & experimental music; always from a modern perspective, with an understanding that is born of a perpetual restlessness to discover non-conventional musical combinations. Not wishing to limit himself to his main instruments, the bass & double bass, going further in a continuous search for new sounds & metrics with piano, drums, guitar, etc.
This multi-instrumentalist use is born from his eagerness to have a multidisciplinary vision and a horizontal dimension of musical creation, always in search of a content that offers a total perspective of the sound universe.
Worthy of note are his collaborations with the pianist from Tenerife Polo Ortí whom he accompanied for fifteen years and with whom he recorded the elaborate album Boiling Earth; the flautist/saxophonist Jorge Pardo (Paco de Lucía, Chick Corea) with whom he played the piece Tanguitos del Teide which is included in the album ‘Huellas’ and the legendary Puerto Rican trumpet player Jerry González that featured in the film “calle 54” by Fernando Trueba, having the opportunity of sharing the stage with him while on a Tour of the Latin-American continent.
The LuisMo Valladares Quartet is made up of very versatile and open minded musicians, all of them having extensive experience on stage, refined technique and feeling. The ensemble will present its own pieces, standard cover versions and some new compositions. Their show is an undertaking for ineffable experimentation, the pursuit of beauty through progressive rock and the most contemporary aspects of jazz. Inviting us to enjoy an open concert, with emotions that will make us immerse ourselves in an original language and will show unpublished images in a landscape context, where the spirit of music will remain intact.
The Quartet’s concerts clearly show the intention of presenting a repertoire that brings together all the influences that until now have had a remarkable effect on the constitution of their style. Their music tries to stage the variety with which they usually surprise the audience at each of their performances, the deployment of unlimited musical forms that involve the audience in a sonic journey, rich in stylistic resources. This diversification of content manifests the purpose of showing contrapuntal passages, syncopated rhythms, contemporary harmonies and innovative ideas that carry the listener to an immanent world full of power and magnetism.
