DAAHOUD SALIM QUINTET
International group formed in Amsterdam in 2015, the Daahoud Salim Quintet is successful wherever it goes. Winner of the B-Jazz International Contest in Leuven, Belgium, the Jury of Europar Jazzaldia awarded them the Best Band & Best Soloist, the Cifu" (Audience Award) at the Getxo International Jazz Festival, also won 1st prize at the Big Band Arrangement & Composition Competition organised by the Fundación SGAE in 2022 and they have performed at some of the most important venues and festivals in the world.
Their music is based on compositions by Daahoud Salim and occasionally, his father Abdu Salim, one of the pioneers of jazz in Spain. In their live performances the band sparks energy, spirituality and a high level of communication with the audience.
In 2024, they released their latest album Live at Dizzy’s Club, NY, recorded during their memorable performance at the Lincoln Center in New York.
