GAC Trio
GAC Trio’s new project takes its career one step further in contemporary European jazz, working with musicians linked to the contemporary jazz movement, and thus developing their music, bringing their personality & experience to this new musical adventure. The repertoire features a review of the music of "GAC trio" as well as the presentation of new compositions written expressly for this format. GAC Trio works from the personal acoustic timbre of the formation and as always, with improvisation as an engine.
Gino Marcelli (piano) has been combining classical training, jazz & pop with great creativity in his artistic career. His experience in production & musical arrangement has contributed to the development of numerous collaborations in television, theatre & films.
The advance in his career so far has taken him travelling countless times around Europe, performing at many concerts & festivals all over the continent. He has also played alongside several different artists, such as Leonard Johnson (ex Temptation), Geraldina Trovato, Andrea Bocelli, Zucchero, Tricarico, Tony Scott, Simple Minds, Feitless, Trilok Gurtu, Stefano Cerri, Attlio Zanchi, Faso, Christian Mayer, Riccardo Fioravanti, Stefano Baglioli, Tito Mangialajio Rantzer, Donato Scolese, Kal Dos Santos, Toninho Horta, Jose Werneck and Andres Lizon.
Agustín Buenafuente (double bass) is a jazz musician from Tenerife passionate about improvisation, who actively participates on the Canary Islands music scene collaborating with numerous and varied groups as a guitarrist, bassist & double bass player. He has complemented his training at International Jazz Seminars taking classes given by known guitarrists like Jonathan Kreisberg, Andreu Zaragoza & Octavio Hernández. He has aslo received double base classes by musicians of the stature of Horacio Fumero, David Mengual, Tana Santana, Tom Warburton and Martín Leyton. Both as a guitarrist and double bass player he has collaborated in projects that cover very different styles, being sought after by many groups and artists with whom he has recorded a number of albums and performed at many important concerts and festivals.
José Miguel Méndez “Churchi” (drums) has played with countless groups and musicians, such as Jorge Pardo, Perico Sambeat, Torsten de Winkel, Chiqui Pérez Quartet, Thesaurus Quartet, Agustín Carló, Polo Ortí, Big Band Swing de Canarias, LaFerretería Jazz Band, Dr. Bacteria, Baba Djembe, A M Big Band, Machuca Trío, Three Jazz, Fernando Barrios Quintet, Heineken Jazz Band, The Original Big Band, Debora Quattrini Quartet, Samuel Labrador Trío, BvJazz Trío, Tina Riobo Quintet, Carlos Miyares Quinteto,Rayco León Quartet and Drums & Sax Duo. He has performed at a number of jazz and other music festivals.
