Nik West
This young artist born in Phoenix, Arizona will take one by surprise for the quality & expression of her voice and the way she plays the bass guitar.
Her father, an accomplished guitarist, taught her how to play the rhythm guitar when she was just 13 years old. However, she discovered the bass was to be her instrument while listening for the first time to Michael Jackson’s Wanna be Startin’ Somethin’.
Her expressive & powerful voice and the skillful way she played the bass surprised artists like Lenny Kravitz and Dave Stewart, guitarrist & member of the group The Eurythmics and also recording producer. Dave worked with her on several projects. She also performed alongside recently deceased Prince, Marcus Miller and worked with well-known producer Glen Ballard, among others.[:]
